Roman Bronze Enamelled Swimming Duck Brooch
Item Description
C. 2nd century AD
A Roman bronze swimming duck brooch, decorated with enamel. It has an oval, hollow-cast body, with crescent shaped cells, inlaid with yellow and red enamel, representing feathers.
Although has minor chip to body, with chain loop at its tail and the pin missing, it still has a good amount of enamel remaining with nice detail.
Provenance: Manchester Collection, collected in the 1990’s.
