RARE Egyptian Faience Amulet of Anubis With Djed Pillar

C. 664–30 BC – Late to Ptolemaic Period

An interesting amulet of the Egyptian deity Anubis with a djed pillar in front, which symbolises stability and endurance.

The god of the dead and the process of embalming and associated with the afterlife. Anubis brought souls into the afterlife and would be present during the weighing of the heart ceremony which determined whether a soul would be allowed to enter the realm of the dead.

Small chip to tip of one ear with some earthy surface deposits, good detail and RARE.
