C. 14th Century

A bronze vesica-shaped seal matrix depicting the figure of Mary seated supporting the infant Jesus, within a ropework pattern border. There is legend in Lombardic script to outer edge which reads, ” MATER DEI MEMENTO ME [.]’ and translates to: (Mother of God, remember  (me)). To finish there is a loop to reverse.

Some earthy surface deposits with good detail and intact.
