Greek Terracotta South Italian Gnathian Kylix
Item Description
C. 4th century BC
A fine South Italian Gnathian twin handled black ware kylix, with a shallow tapering body and small foot. It features a band of white painted ovolo decoration to the rim, with incised detail surrounding it, and orange painted dots below. It is followed by a row of orange waves bordered by white parallel lines, and a row of white painted dots below to finish.
Repaired handle and small chip to inner rim otherwise a nice example with a rich, black gloss.
