Greek South Italian Terracotta Gnathian Skyphos

C. 4th century BC
A fine south Italian Gnathian twin handled black ware skyphos, with a tapering body and small foot. It features a band of white painted ovolo decoration to the rim, bordered by two incised parallel lines, and a row of orange painted dots below. The body is also decorated with an orange dot-rosette to the centre with hanging white tendrils either side.
Minor chip to rim with some nicks to glaze otherwise nice example with good colour and detail.
Provenance; Ex H. N. Collection, collected 1980’s-90’s.
