Greek Boeotian Black-Glazed Terracotta Kantharos
Item Description
C. 5th century BC
A nice black-glazed Boeotian kantharos (drinking cup) with twin, high-arching strap handles, with external flat-topped spurs towards the base. It has a deep bowl and above the rounded foot there is a reserved groove.
The kanthoros was used both for drinking wine from and for ceremonial purposes.
In good condition with some minor nicks to glaze otherwise if of a nice style.
