Egyptian Faience Green Glazed Amulet of Knot of Isis

Item Description

C. 713-332 BC – Late Period

A green glazed amulet of The Knot of Isis, also known as ‘Girdle of Isis’ or ‘Tyet’ amulet, which is depicted as a knotted piece of cloth. It has a suspension loop to the back and symbolises protection in the afterlife. Its early meaning is unknown but in the New Kingdom it was associated with the goddess, Isis – the great magician, and wife of Osiris.

In excellent condition with a nice green glaze and good detail.
