A Large Egyptian Steatite Plaque Of The Goddess Ma’at
Item Description
C. 1070 – 664 BC – Third Intermediate Period
A nice steatite plaque with raised linear decoration to one side and hieroglyphs to the other, depicting the seated female deity Ma’at, goddess of truth and order. She wears a feathered headdress and holds an ostrich feather on her knee with a large ostrich feather of Ma’at in front and the ‘men’ sign.
Of a large size with excellent hieroglyphs.
