Roman Bronze Enamelled Swimming Duck Brooch
Item Description
C. 2nd century AD
A nice example of a Roman bronze swimming duck brooch. It has a narrow body with head raised and extended bill. There are four elongated panels on the body of the duck with some dark blue enamel, and a chain loop at the rear.
Although pin missing and slightly chipped to one side of the body, it has some traces of blue enamel.
Provenance: Manchester Collection, collected in the 1990’s.
