Large Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp Depicting Goddess Luna
Item Description
C. 2nd-3rd century AD
A nice large Roman oil lamp decorated with the bust of goddess Luna facing left to central discus, within an incised border. It has a lug handle and a heart shaped nozzle with linear pattern to the reverse. The shoulders are decorated with a laurel-wreath, and concentric circles to the base.
Of a large size with good colour and detail.
