Roman Glass Unguentarium With Iridescence
Item Description
C. 1st-2nd century AD
A translucent glass unguentarium featuring a piriform body, cylindrical neck, a small out-sprayed folded rim and a flat base, with a beautiful iridescence to surfaces. These would possibly have been used to contain various ointments, medicine, cosmetics or perfume.
Intact with beautiful iridescence to surfaces and some earthy surface deposits.
Provenance; Ex C. S. Collection, collected in the 1980’s-2000’s.
